Facial Skeleton Surgeries
Mentoplasty is the most common surgery of this type and consists of improving the position of the chin through cuts in the bone, to achieve pleasant changes in the facial profile.
There is also the possibility of using implants or injectable substances (hyaluronic acid), as well as injecting the patient’s own fat, when very large changes are not required.
With these procedures we seek to modify the bone structure below the skin, that is, we change the position of the bones of the face to improve the facial profile and, in certain cases, improve the function of occlusion, that is, the way the teeth and the structures inside the mouth allow daily activities such as eating, speaking, and even breathing and sleeping.
Within this group are also maxillary and mandibular surgeries, generally called orthognathic surgery.
